Art

Video, augmented reality and sound · 2016–2018

Digital collage, photography, video, augmented reality and sound, made between 2015 and 2018. Three collections in full below, then the exhibitions and film work from the same years. A record, not an offer.

2018

Rochester Subway

Augmented reality exhibition · Sage Art Center, University of Rochester · 15–23 April 2018

Projections and augmented-reality overlays built on top of the graffiti already inside Rochester’s abandoned subway tunnels — work that was there but unseen, revealed through a visitor’s phone. Made with the ExSpace Artist Collective: Naomi Rutagarama, who led and curated it, Jorge Vazquez Gonzalez and Sammi Wang. Co-creator, digital artist and design manager.

2018

The Abandoned Beauty

Documentary · Best Design Award, EstDocs Film Festival, 2018 · Official Selection, Gollin Film Festival, 2018

A documentary that grew out of the subway work and followed the same question further: what is worth looking at in a place everyone has agreed to stop looking at.

2016

Reflection Spectrum

Video art within a performance · Estonian Cultural Days, New York · March 2016

Video art inside a live performance. Creative direction of the festival that year; video artist on the piece.

2016

Interactive performance, New York Estonian House

Live performance · New York Estonian House, Manhattan · 29 October 2016

A performance about how physical surroundings change what an audience perceives — how a space is inhabited, and what that does to attention. Audio and show operations.

Work from these years was exhibited in the United States and Canada. The same period included a seat on the executive board of the Foundation for Estonian Arts and Letters, representing musicians and digital artists.
