For Norwegian companies

Selling to American buyers from Norway.

Norwegian products already sell in America. The website, the pitch and the follow-up often still read as if they were written for Oslo. I help Norwegian companies look and sound like a serious option to an American buyer: a website built for US customers, positioning in natural American English and a clear launch plan, drawing on 13 years of brand and web work in New York.

01

Why the US, and why now

Norway exported NOK 62 billion of goods to the United States in 2024, its second-largest goods export market outside the EU, according to Statistics Norway. Salmon alone accounted for NOK 10 billion, double its 2019 value. The demand is real. What tends to lag behind is how a Norwegian company presents itself to the American buyer who finds it online. These are the things that buyer looks for first.

  • Prices in dollars, or a clear way to get a US quote
  • Dimensions and specs in inches, feet and pounds next to metric
  • A US address, phone number or representative, and hours in Eastern Time
  • US certifications named on the product page: UL or ETL, FCC, FDA where relevant
  • References and case studies from American customers
  • Shipping, duties and delivery times to the US, stated plainly

Tariff rules have changed several times since 2025. Confirm the current rate for your product with a customs broker before you publish US prices.

What I do for Norwegian companies

One senior person across brand, website and launch, who knows how American buyers read a page. I worked with American clients in New York for 13 years, including Kenneth Cole and Steve Madden, and I’m now based in Tallinn, one hour ahead of Oslo.

  • A US-readiness audit of your website against the ten checks in my US-Readiness Index, with a prioritized fix list
  • Positioning and messaging in natural American English
  • A US landing page, or a full US version of your website
  • Sales materials for American buyers: deck, one-pagers, product sheets
  • Brand identity and Webflow or Shopify builds when the brand itself needs work
  • An AI assistant that answers American buyers’ questions while your team sleeps

Typical engagement: an audit and a US landing page in four to six weeks.

What I found when I scored Estonian exporters

In 2026 I scored 23 Estonian exporters the way an American buyer sees them, on ten criteria worth two points each. Most of the gaps had nothing to do with the product. Neighboring markets tend to share the same blind spots, and the fixes are usually small.

  • Average score: 7 out of 20
  • 2 of 23 had a page for American customers
  • 3 of 23 showed prices in dollars
  • None of the 20 hardware makers clearly named UL or ETL certification
  • The companies at the top showed US customers, US contacts and US proof

How it works
01

A call, not a pitch

Twenty minutes on what you are actually trying to move, booked straight into my calendar. If I am not the right person, I will say so and usually know who is.

02

A written scope

What gets built, what it costs, how long, and what I need from you. Fixed scope wherever the work allows it.

03

Build in the open

You see progress as it happens rather than a reveal at the end. Feedback in the tool, not in a forty-message thread.

04

Handover that sticks

Documentation and a training session, so the thing keeps working when I am not in the room. That is the point.
