Web designers and developers have a growing list of tools. One that's quickly becoming popular is ChatGPT. Here's how it can help.

Drafting content

ChatGPT can draft product descriptions, blog posts and page copy, freeing designers to focus on the visual work. It can also write in many languages, which helps with multilingual sites.

Writing code snippets

It can generate HTML, CSS and JavaScript for specific features, which is useful when a developer needs to implement something quickly rather than write it from scratch.

Sparking design ideas

Given a description such as "modern and easy to navigate," it can suggest color schemes and layouts as a starting point for inspiration.

A helper, not a replacement

ChatGPT wasn't built for web design, and visual work still belongs in dedicated design tools. But as a way to save time and get unstuck, it's already a useful member of the team.
