Photo 2: Collective Recordings
The photograph is taken in Rochester, NY, South Wedge neighborhood at a historic Victorian house. The tower of the house is renovated for a leisure area and the photograph was taken during a social gathering.
I captured it during a late night weekend party at a friend's house, he is in his late 50s gay gentleman who organizes quite big gatherings every three months or so. When I asked him why he continue to organize these parties almost fully exclusively to the LGBT members in the city he explained to me how back in the days, when he was in a young adult being open about sexual orientation wasn't as easy and there was a tradition of organizing gatherings, wine & cheese parties and networking events among like-minded people to prove a safe environment for talking about things as well as feeling free to behave and express themselves freely. It was a huge support for him and even though many of these types of closed events aren't as necessary any longer, he still wants to give something back to the Rochester community for being so forward-thinking and supportive.
